The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) approved the temporary rate surcharge (Docket UW-240948) for Olympic Water & Sewer, Inc. (OWSI) to recover $252,077.96 over 24 months for the Ice Pigging project. The surcharge was effective February 17, 2025 and expires February 17, 2027 or upon recovery of the $252,077.96, whichever occurs first.
Ice pigging has been completed, and we are now entering the second year of the approved water surcharge. Beginning with the April billing cycle, the surcharge will increase from $11.32 to $12.40 per billing period (equivalent to $6.20 per month).
Customers who made the one-time payment will not see this surcharge on their bill.
This surcharge is billed and collected in accordance with Schedule No. 9 in our UTC approved Tariff. A copy of the Tariff is available on our website.
