On October 30th, 2023 Olympic Water & Sewer held a Consumer Report to outline the update to the Water System Plan. Below is a recap of the customer Q&A session at the recent Town Hall meeting with Jason White, Olympic Water & Sewer’s Manager and Jeff Hansen from HDR and a representative from WA Department of Health.

As we did not receive consent from those participating in the session, we did not include the questions being asked on video but have transcribed them (edited for brevity) along with the answers below.

Two Questions: #1 was not filmed but referred to rates and the Water System Plan and #2 Utilization Efficiency.

With Port Ludlow having a percentage of snowbirds that don’t use any water some parts of the year, that must have an effect on the average daily usage for those who live here all the time, the rate structure is tiered so I imagine consumers will be encouraged to use less on that basis. What is the average daily usage for non-snow birders?

How does the water leakage compare to other water systems?
